A Niles, Ohio police officer who allegedly threatened to kill a man in front of his girlfriend's kids is back on the job after receiving a minor 30 day suspension. Despite an internal investigation faulting the officer for use of force violations, unlawful search and seizure or detention, misuse of his own dash cam, and for ordering a fellow cop not to record, the Niles police evidently felt the officer's conduct did not merit him losing his job. From WKBN: NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – A Niles police officer is being disciplined after an internal affairs investigation revealed he used his badge for a personal attack against a couple during a traffic stop in November. If you read the full report, you'll see the other officer said he assumed the order to turn off his dash cam was done to protect the identity of an undercover informant. Additionally, Mobley routinely failed to record his interactions with the public on his own equipment despite a requirement to do so. |
