Michigan Hospital Security Guards Tase Handcuffed Man, Snatch Camera from Witness

By Carlos Miller

Hospital security guards in Michigan were struggling with a handcuffed man in a wheelchair who was yelling for help in a parking lot when one of them tasered him in the back.

When the guards noticed a man was video recording, they went after him and snatched his camera, telling him it was “private property” and the torture of the handcuffed man was “confidential.”

The handcuffed man kept yelling, “I fear for my life,” and “please don’t hurt me” as well as the phone number to his girlfriend, [redacted], which I haven’t called because it is currently 4:30 a.m.

A Macomb County sheriff’s deputy appeared and detained the man for video recording.

93167 Well, IS the hospital and it's parking-lot private property or not ?
ARE the security-guards private or public employees ??

I'm guessing the answer is :
The hospital and it's parking-lot IS private property and the security guards are employees of a private company .

See, it WONT make things any better to leave security to private contractors ..

7147 It is a long established principle that private individuals (persons, companies, hospitals) can prevent pictures from being taken on their property/of their property. The security was certainly private employ as well, and not state goons.

Therefore they were within their rights to confiscate the camera, and the recording maker was clearly in the wrong. Freedom does not justify recording on someone else's property; property rights are sacrosanct.

99228 I'm sure that if this ever happened to one of your own (love one a friend) you would have a different opinion on this matter! Without taking anything away from all the people that work enforcing the law, because we all know that it is a dangerous and hard job, you have to admit that there are those who abuse the authority and simple think that they are above it and just become bullies.

93167 And you think that only applies to government employees ?
If we let private corporations handle security/enforcement, as the extremist libtards want, they to will become simple bullies .
Anyone who has read 'Listen Little Man' and 'The mass-psychology of fascism' should know that - And also understand WHY .

82145 Private property or not, someone commiting a CRIME is not entitled to stop the witness recording the event, period.
