How about legalize it and have the government pay restitution to all the millions of people they've jailed and abused for almost a century for a non-crime? How about we jail all the criminals in government who trampled on people's rights and liberties simply due to some criminal government's criminal edict? Can we put that to a vote? - ChrisSan Jose voters will get a chance in November decide whether to impose a tax of up to 10 percent on medical cannabis businesses in the city. The San Jose City Council on Tuesday, with a 7-4 vote, approved a measure that will place the tax on the ballot. If it's approved, it will be the highest medical cannabis tax in the state. Proponents of the tax see it as a revenue source for the cash-strapped city. But medical marijuana patients and activists fear a 10 percent tax is too high and will drive those in need of the medication to neighboring cities where the prices will be lower. Read More |
