How the Other Half Lives (Income Tax-Free, That Is)

Great news: Almost half of all households in the United States pay no income taxes (thanks to tax breaks, credits, deductions, etc.) And these are not just the super-rich (who never pay as much as most citizens anyway; see below.) This group of households includes many poor and middle income families. (Good for them, by the way!)

About those super-rich in the United States who pay much less in income taxes than the rest of us:
"The Oracle of Omaha [Warren Buffett] issued a challenge to members of The Forbes 400 in October; said he would donate $1 million to charity if the collective group of richest Americans would admit they pay less taxes, as a percentage of income, than their secretaries."
Considering that Warren Buffett was one of Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama’s chief advisers, remember this the next time you hear how the Democrats are going to tax all those “rich” who can afford to pay taxes more than the rest of us sheeple.
