A Confederate Names Task Force in Fairfax County, Virginia voted this week to rename Lee Highway and Lee-Jackson Memorial Highway even though a majority of the "tens of thousands of respondents" who weighed in "preferred to keep the name," WTOP reports. From WTOP, "Push to rename roads honoring Confederate generals in Fairfax Co. moves ahead": The drive to rename a pair of Fairfax County's busiest roads, Lee Highway and Lee-Jackson Memorial Highway in Virginia, continues. An exit poll from the gubernatorial election last month showed there is also majority public support for confederate statues staying in place.
WTOP continues: Others argued on the task force that the response rate hardly suggests an accurate or scientific representation of how county residents as a whole feel, and that while the response rate overall was higher than usual, it was still statistically insignificant. What a load of gibberish. It's erasing history and embracing stupidity. Ed Henderson took it one step further, noting other countries have figured out how to acknowledge their history, without honoring the aspects that don't deserve it."Denazification," which is what leftists are explicitly calling for, came after Germany was defeated in World War II. Our hostile overlords are now advancing a similar "Detrumpification" program even though the public has made it abundantly clear they're against all this woke crap and just voted to make a Republican their governor. Ultimately, the task force voted 20-6 in favor of changing the name of Lee Highway, and 19-6 to change the name of Lee-Jackson Memorial Highway, with one member there abstaining."This is what democracy looks like!
