Have you ever heard of this thing called the "First Amendment," Mr Zuckerberg? From Washington Examiner, "'More guidance and regulation': Zuckerberg requests government rules on 'what discourse should be allowed'": Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg called on Western governments to provide regulatory guidance for how social media companies can identify the boundaries of "what discourse should be allowed" on their platforms. There's not going to be any rules set in stone because then dissidents could just get around them by following the rules to the letter and speaking in code. The rules are purposefully open-ended and completely arbitrary so anyone can be crushed at any moment and labeled a "hate agent" for challenging the powers that be. For our ruling class, the arbitrariness of the rules are a feature, not a bug. [Header image by Anthony Quintano, CC BY-SA 2.0.] Follow InformationLiberation on Twitter, Facebook, Gab and Minds. |
