Amanda Leigh Kondrat'yev, 35, who ran against Florida Rep Matt Gaetz in 2016, allegedly attempted to get revenge on him Saturday by throwing a drink at him as he was leaving a town hall event in Pensacola.

From WEAR-TV:
Congressman Matt Gaetz was reportedly assaulted Saturday afternoon following a town hall that he’d hosted.

Police say a drink was thrown at Gaetz’s back as he was leaving the Brew Ha Ha restaurant, where the Won’t Back Down town hall was held.

Amanda Leigh Kondrat'yev, 35, was arrested in connection to the incident. Police believe she threw the drink at Gaetz.
Here's video:

Kondrat'yev was arrested and charged with battery.

"Clearly it takes more than a drink to slow down our great team," Gaetz said after the assault.

The media, as usual, praised the assailant:

I don't think encouraging mentally ill, unhinged leftists to assault people they don't like over their political views is going work out the way the media expects.
