![]() Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Tuesday hired "Never Trumper" Mary Kissel -- who regularly trashes Trump on television and Twitter -- as senior adviser for policy and strategic messaging at the State Department. As Ryan Girdusky said, "she'll fit in perfectly with hundreds of other Never Trumpers who work for the administration."
Breitbart has more: Kissel’s hire caught many by surprise, given her blatant public criticism of the president and his policies. She has criticized the president as recently as this summer. In a July 16 interview with Fox News, she called Trump’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin as a “great propaganda victory” for Putin.Really great stuff. In his column highlighting everything wrong with her hire, Ryan Girdusky said: "During a sit-down interview with ABC back in October, first lady Melania Trump revealed that she believed there were members of the Trump administration that couldn’t be trusted. She was right; maybe Trump should lean on her more to do the vetting and hiring. Maybe Melania can drain the swamp?" The person Melania went rogue on demanding they be fired was National Security Council aide Mira Ricardel, a neocon appointed by John Bolton. Former Trump speech writer Darren Beattie, who was fired by the Trump administration after it was revealed he merely spoke on a panel at a right-wing conference with immigration hawk Peter Brimelow of VDARE, reacted to the news of Kissel's hiring on Twitter:
VDARE's Twitter account, which I presume is run by Brimelow, also weighed in on the news:
