UPDATE: NBC issued a major "correction" on their report Thursday night.
CORRECTION: Earlier today, NBC News reported that there was a wiretap on the phones of Michael Cohen, President Trump’s longtime personal attorney, citing two separate sources with knowledge of the legal proceedings involving Cohen.

But three senior U.S. officials now dispute that, saying that the monitoring of Cohen’s phones was limited to a log of calls, known as a pen register, not a wiretap where investigators can actually listen to calls.

NBC News has changed the headline and revised parts of the original article.
Original article follows.

Is anyone dumb enough not to realize this is an open coup?

From NBC News:
Federal investigators have wiretapped the phone lines of Michael Cohen, the longtime personal lawyer for President Donald Trump who is under investigation for a payment he made to an adult film star who alleged she had an affair with Trump, according to two people with knowledge of the legal proceedings involving Cohen.

It is not clear how long the wiretap has been authorized, but NBC News has learned it was in place in the weeks leading up to the raids on Cohen's offices, hotel room, and home in early April, according to one person with direct knowledge.

At least one phone call between a phone line associated with Cohen and the White House was intercepted, the person said.

Previously, federal prosecutors in New York have said in court filings that they have conducted covert searches on multiple e-mail accounts maintained by Cohen.
This has nothing to do with Russia.

They're simply looking for any excuse to overthrow the sitting president and they're willing to use every tool at their disposal, including spying on Trump's attorney client communications so they can gather information illegally and leak the details to the press.
The Cohen investigation is being led by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Manhattan and the FBI. Investigators are looking into the $130,000 transaction between Cohen and adult film star Stormy Daniels, also known as Stephanie Clifford, who allegedly had an affair with Trump more than a decade ago, and a reported payment of $150,000 from American Media Inc., publishers of the National Enquirer, to a second woman who allegedly had an affair with Trump, Playboy model Karen McDougal.

The White House has denied allegations of the affairs.

Investigators are also seeking information about the 2005"Access Hollywood" tape in which Donald Trump was heard making vulgar boasts about women.
What the hell are they investigating? Campaign finance violations?

Everything involved in a campaign is a campaign finance violation. No one is ever prosecuted for them as they're totally arbitrary and the laws are idiotic. If anything, they were designed purposefully broad specifically so the establishment could take down outsiders by going after them for totally arbitrary "violations."

Can you imagine all the dirt the FBI could find if they investigated Barry Soetoro's history?

Hanoi John McCain?

The Clinton Crime family?

The Bush Crime family?

Our political class is loaded with criminals who could easily be convicted of serious crimes with even the most cursory investigations. They've been investigating Trump for two years now and they've got nothing but alleged campaign finance violations.

This is a total joke. Mueller, Comey, Brennan et al. should be charged with treason.
