'White Female' YouTube Shooter Identified As Iranian-Turk Nasim Aghdam

The "white female" YouTube shooter "wearing a headscarf" has been identified as 39-year-old Nasim Aghdam, a self-described "Persian Azeri female vegan bodybuilder" and radical animal rights activist who claimed YouTube was discriminating against her.

"I guess the NYT will identify YouTube shooter as a 'white Iranian,'" Ann Coulter said Tuesday night on Twitter.

SAN BRUNO, Calif. (KGO) -- Chaos erupted on the YouTube campus in San Bruno Tuesday afternoon when an alleged female shooter entered the campus and opened fire, wounding three employees.

ABC7 News sources confirm the YouTube shooter was a user of the platform. Nasim Aghdam has a website with an alleged manifesto that targets YouTube for censorship and demonetization of her video content.

Aghdam is said to have no relationship with anyone in the YouTube facility.

Sources say Aghdam did not have an ID badge, but was carrying a purse, and that nobody in the facility knew who she was.
Aghdam reportedly shot three people with a handgun and then killed herself.

Aghdam was an activist for PETA featured in an article from the San Diego Union Tribune in 2009:
More than two dozen protesters gathered outside Camp Pendleton's main gate yesterday afternoon to denounce the use of pigs in military-trauma training.

Jena Hunt, a spokeswoman for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which organized the protest, said there are more humane ways for service members to train, including advanced human simulators that could function as victims and having service members rotate into military-trauma centers where they can learn life-saving techniques.

Nasim Aghdam, 29, a San Diego animal rights activist, dressed in a wig and jeans with large blood drops painted on them.

“For me, animal rights equal human rights,” Aghdam said.
