Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota shared a troll tweet from Ricky Vaughn before the Senate Judiciary Committee and claimed it was an "illegal ad."
She claimed the satirical joke tweet was "illegal voter suppression" and cited as evidence an unrelated case where some people allegedly shut down "a line" to keep people from voting in New Hampshire.
As you can see from the tweet, it was not an ad, but a troll tweet from a hilarious 4chan trolling campaign.
It's fascinating that the Democrats believe their voters are so dumb they could be tricked by a random tweet into thinking they can "text" their vote in. Granted, Democrats are really stupid, so I guess it's understandable, but Twitter took the tweets down regardless. Also, those tweets were not paid advertisements.
There's zero evidence even a single person was tricked by the satirical tweets into not voting. Anyone who did text the number would have gotten this back in response:
"The ad you saw was not approved by iVisionMobile OR Hillary For America in any way. To opt-in to the real HFA list, text HFA to 47246. Reply STOP to cancel."Liberals tried pulling the same tricks on Twitter (their posts were not deleted):
The "Russian ads" driving this hysterical investigation only made up .004% of total content on Facebook news feeds, according to Facebook's vice president of AR and VR and former VP of advertising Andrew Bosworth.
Ricky Vaughn was not a Russian, but an American alt-right twitter personality.
