The Diablo Valley College professor 4chan internet sleuths fingered as responsible for smashing a Trump supporter's head with a bike lock at a Berkeley rally earlier this year has been arrested for assault.

From the East Bay Times:
BERKELEY — The arrest of a former Diablo Valley College professor on Wednesday prompted some conservative social media to celebrate the apprehension of a man they say used a bike lock in a vicious attack during a rally for President Donald Trump last month.

Eric Clanton remained in custody in lieu of $200,000 bail at Berkeley Jail on Thursday and will be arraigned Friday morning at 9 a.m. at Oakland’s Wiley W. Manuel courthouse. He was arrested on suspicion of use of a firearm during a felony with an enhancement clause and assault with a non-firearm deadly weapon.

Berkeley police did not immediately return requests for comment Friday morning and have not provided details to this paper about the incident for which Clanton was arrested.
Well done, 4chan.
