Rachel Maddow somehow managed to blame Donald Trump for the riots in Venezuela.
The chyron on her show Thursday read: "Unrest in Venezuela Over Trump Donations."
Maddow actually tried to make the argument Venezuelans were "enraged anew" after a newly released FEC filing showed Citgo Petroleum donated $500,000 to President Trump's inauguration.
Citgo is a subsidiary of Venezuela's state run oil company.
Maddow was widely mocked on Twitter:
Tucker Carlson even got in the mix:
Maddow later apologized for the error.
