Portland police were cheered by citizens Wednesday for arresting a group of leftist rioters blocking traffic.

FOX 12 Oregon reports the rioters were blocking traffic at the intersection of Southwest Yamhill and 6th Avenue to protest police upholding the law on inauguration day.

Video shows the rioters leaning on people's cars and blocking buses:

Police eventually arrived and tackled the protesters to cheers.

"Thank you for doing your jobs, guys, I appreciate it," one man can be heard saying out of a sea of "thank yous" from onlookers.

An elderly woman is also seen giving the officers the double thumbs up.

KPTV reports 14 people were arrested and charged with a host of crimes.
