Friends of Unarmed Teen Shot by Police Say Media Ignored Story "Because He's White"

Fresno police just released video of unarmed white teenager Dylan Noble being shot for ignoring officers' demands to stop moving towards them and show his hands.

Police are not releasing the names of the officers, but from the video it sounds like one is Hispanic.

Predicably, the story is only getting a small fraction of the coverage paid towards Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

Friends of Noble said the media was ignored his shooting because of his race.

From The Washington Post:
“I guarantee if an African American guy got shot, it would’ve blown up,” Noble’s friend, David Merkord, told the Guardian. “There definitely would’ve been a bigger crowd.”

Some Internet commenters claimed the relative lack of media attention was because of Noble’s race.

“Fresno cops shoot, kill 19-year-old,” wrote one Twitter user. “You didn’t hear about it, well because he was white.”
Anger over the media ignoring Noble's shooting sparked a "white lives matter" protest vigil which featured confederate flags.

As someone who has covered police brutality stories for over ten years, I can say none of these latest shootings are clear-cut police brutality. Police have actually improved a lot since the proliferation of cell phone cameras and mass outrage on YouTube has forced them to get their act together.

Nonetheless, the elite media wants to rile blacks up against whites and has so far succeeded in getting almost a dozen white people killed or shot in just the last week.
