The left-wing communist Green Party candidate Alexander Van der Bellen has been declared the winner of Austria's presidential election. While Van der Bellen was down by 144,006 votes, he supposedly managed to win over 60% of the 750,000+ postal votes counted overnight. From BBC: Alexander Van der Bellen has won Austria's presidential election, preventing Norbert Hofer from becoming the EU's first far-right head of state. Mr Van der Bellen campaigned on a pro-EU platform, backed by the Green Party.Women and those brainwashed in university voted for the socialist while hard working men voted for the capitalist right-winger: Support for Mr Hofer was exceptionally strong among manual workers - nearly 90%. The vote for Mr Van der Bellen was much stronger among people with a university degree or other higher education qualification. This is a sick joke. Hopefully it only serves to further enrage people. Here's Hofer's full statement from Facebook (translated with Google): Dear Friends, Follow InformationLiberation on Twitter and Facebook. |
