A former police officer and member of Honolulu's "Crime Reduction Unit" who was seen violently assaulting two young men in an entirely unprovoked gangland-style attack last year has been sentenced to 30 months in prison.

From KHON2:
A former Honolulu Police Department officer has been sentenced for violating the civil rights of two Honolulu men.

District Judge J. Michael Seabright sentenced Vincent Morre, 38, to 30 months in prison.

Charges were filed against Morre on May 6, 2015 following an investigation by the FBI and HPD.

On May 19, 2015, Morre pleaded guilty to two counts of depriving the two men’s right to be free from the use of unreasonable force by a law enforcement officer on Sept. 5, 2014.

Two men were beaten inside an Ala Moana area game room, and Moore was caught on surveillance video.

The officer filed a false report failing to mention his assault, meanwhile the other two officers who were with him and also failed to report his assault are scheduled to be sentenced later this month.
