Piers Morgan: Jail White People Who Use the N-Word

Former CNN host and vehement gun control advocate Piers Morgan today called for all white people who use the N-word to be arrested and thrown in jail.

The debate began after President Obama uttered the word “nigger” during an interview about racism which was aired earlier today.

“Racism, we are not cured of it. And it’s not just a matter of it not being polite to say nigger in public,” Obama said during his appearance on “WTF with Marc Maron.”

The term ‘N-word’ quickly began trending on Twitter, leading Morgan to weigh in with his usual brand of authoritarianism.

“What would I do with white people who use the N-word? Jail them,” tweeted the British journalist.

This quickly prompted a backlash of condemnation from conservative figures, who expressed their shock at Morgan calling for people to be arrested for their (albeit unpopular) free speech.

Morgan’s sentiment is not shared by the US Supreme Court, which protects all speech (no matter how offensive) so long as it does not constitute “fighting words,” or an immediate incitement to violence.

Several left-wing media outlets, notably Salon.com, insisted that all white people be blamed for the tragic shooting of nine black people at a Charleston church last week by white supremacist Dylann Roof.
