Texas police officer Nathanial Robinson, 23, was fired a few months ago after video went viral of him tasing a 76-year-old man because he suspected he was driving with "expired tags." In fact, the man was driving a dealer car, which was exempt from normal tag regulations. The officer was entirely in the wrong, yet rather than double check the law he chose to tase an innocent 76-year-old man for not showing him sufficient obedience. I said at the time the officer would probably get his job back, and now that's pretty much happened. The officer has apparently been hired by the nearby Beeville Police Department, which is only an hours drive from Victoria. The police chief says people have nothing to worry about because Robinson will be "retrained" in their "12-week field training program." "He doesn't just come in and go on the streets on his own." |
