Cop Forced Woman To Manufacture Meth Under Threat Of Arrest

Sheriff's deputy Grady Keith Concord was just sentenced after pleading guilty to extorting a woman to manufacture methamphetamine using pseudoephedrine he stole from the sheriff's office evidence room.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Former Winston County Sheriff's deputy Grady Keith Concord, 42, has been sentenced to serve three years and nine months in federal prison for extorting a woman to cook methamphetamine.

Concord pleaded guilty to one count of manufacturing methamphetamine and one count of manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine on premises where children are present or reside. The charges were first brought against Concord in November.

Prosecutors say Concord, who was a deputy in July 2013, approached a woman living in the town of Nauvoo threatening her with an arrest warrant unless she agreed to manufacture methamphetamine for him. Prosecutors say he supplied the woman with pseudoephedrine, a necessary ingredient of methamphetamine, taken from the sheriff’s office evidence room.

Concord acknowledged that he knew the woman had two sons who lived with her, and that one of them was a minor.

[...]Concord is scheduled to be back in court in May to face a separate methamphetamine manufacturing charge.

The manufacturing of meth is extremely dangerous and involves highly toxic and flammable chemicals.

This woman and her children could have been burned alive in their home if there was an accident.

The officer was facing up to 20 years and a $250,000 fine on the extortion charge, as well as 20 years and a $1 million dollar fine on the manufacturing charge. We'll see how much leniency he gets as a result of his "blue privilege."
