A New York City police officer who was caught on video stomping on a man’s head has been indicted on assault charges. NYPD officer Joel Edouard also pulled a gun from his holster during a struggle with a man named Jahmiel Cuffee who was suspected of smoking a joint. Edouard also stormed off from the struggle at around the 1:15 mark, walks down the street, then returns and kicks Cuffee in the head at around the 1:45 mark. Charges were dismissed against Cuffee in December. On Tuesday, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office is expected to make the formal announcement of the indictment.
