When Louisiana police officer Chester Lee Williams was confronted by two colorful Louisianian's for allowing his passenger to litter on the highway, the officer responded by immediately apologizing and writing himself and his passenger up for littering. Just joking. He responded the only way he knows how: with threats and intimidation. "I saw your passenger roll down the window and throw out a piece of candy wrapper on the road back there, and I just wanted to let you know that's not right," driver Marcus Smith told Officer Williams. "Let me tell you what you do. You worry about you," Williams responds. "It's against the law," Smith responds. "Well, go do something about it," Williams barks. After an extended back and forth, Williams responds by bowing up and threatening the men, challenging them by saying "What'chu gonna do? What'chu gonna do?" The men choose to make fun of him and point out his hypocrisy rather than play his game and reduce themselves to violence as Williams so deeply craves, and it drives him up a wall. Ferriday police chief Derrick Freeman was contacted about the video by the local news and only said he would "handle the situation," in other words, he will do nothing about it. Louisiana is statistically the worst state in the nation for police abuse on a per-capita basis. With officers like this it's no wonder why. Update: As a commenter so kindly pointed out, the police chief of another local town had previously laid this officer off "for disciplinary reasons," telling KNOE 8 News he "wouldn't hire him again." Abusive cops regularly shift departments after being fired and avoid any serious punishment. Corrupt officials love hiring fellow criminals because they know they will do their bidding without question. H/T: The Free Thought Project |
