 Two people were killed Sunday afternoon when a Tennessee police officer turned off his blue lights and drove speeding through an intersection. The Bartlett police officer struck a car driven by 63-year-old Danny Floyd, WMC-TV reported. Floyd and his passenger, 49-year-old Michelle Sloyan, were killed. The officer, whose name has not been released, was placed on sick leave with minor injuries. Witnesses said the officer turned off his blue lights before driving through the intersection, and police acknowledged he was not responding to a call at the time. However, police said, the officer “was responding to another officer’s acknowledgment of trying to stop a violator,” although authorities offered no additional details. Read More |
