Police conducting a "search demonstration" at an elementary school in Gainesville, Florida allowed a child to get bit by their police dog after the 8-year-old entered a "fenced off area" on the school's playground where the demonstration was performed. The dog charged the child and bit him on his upper-right thigh, The Independent Florida Alligator reports. Police said they "regret" the incident occurred, but said they won't cancel future demonstrations because they've never had a similar incident occur that they're "aware of." Why children need to be taught how police K-9 searches are performed on their elementary school playgrounds was not explained. |
