Cops Justify Killing Unarmed Man By Saying They Found Drugs

Tulsa police confirm they did not find a gun at the scene of Tuesday's fatal officer-involved shooting, but say they did find crack cocaine in the possession of the man whom an officer shot and killed.

Deandre Lloyd Starks, AKA Deandre Lloyd Armstrong, 27, was shot once and died at St. John Medical Center shortly after arriving.

The shooting occurred during a drug raid on a home in the 200 block of E. Young Street.

[...]Police say Young and several other suspects were scrambling to try and elude police officers as they entered the home.

Officers yelled for them to lay down and show their hands, but TPD says at first "the people in the residence did not comply."

That included Starks, and TPD says he made threatening movements that prompted an officer to fire a single shot.

Subsequently, police found crack cocaine in his possession and in other parts of the house.

Several people were taken into custody for questioning, but as of Wednesday afternoon no one had been arrested in connection with the case.
