![]() A video of a November shooting of a 14-year-old boy has been released by the Battle Creek Police Department. The patrol car video was recorded Nov. 16 when Officer Esteban Rivera was called to a report of a man with a gun. Rivera was the first officer to arrive at the Drive Thru Party Factory at 250 S. Washington Ave. at 11:57 a.m. Evidence collected in an investigation by the Michigan State Police showed that Rivera climbed out of his car and immediately called to Nicholas King to show his hands. But investigators said King instead began to pull a handgun from his waist and Rivera shot him in the shoulder. On the video, the shooting occurs about 3 seconds after Rivera stops his patrol car.
