'Pepper Spray Cop' Demands Pay For 'Psychiatric Injury'

By Stephen C. Webster

A police officer who was caught on camera hosing down a group of student protesters with pepper spray for no apparent reason has filed for worker’s compensation, asking taxpayers to pay him for a “psychiatric injury” he claims to have sustained in the incident’s wake.

Officer John Pike was fired about eight months after his antics at the University of California-Davis became the subject of a viral Internet meme that saw thousands of famous photos edited to include him pepper-spraying various people and things.

He’s expected to be appearing at a settlement hearing in August, according to The Associated Press, where Pike hopes to be awarded compensation for a “psychiatric injury.”

Pike claims he received dozens of threatening messages following the pepper-spraying incident, thanks to hackers who dredged up his personal information and shared it widely.

69171 if you live by the sword....

I watched the videos of his careless pepper spraying shortly after it happened and it would dessert if whomever is judging his settlement case gives him exactly as much empathy as he showed those children. On the other hand, I also do not wish ill towards him, so my soul is in conflict here...

170213 my soul isn't.he gets absolutely no sympathy here nor does any cop of his ilk.he did it,he enjoyed it,and he purposely violated the oath he took.he was already brain damaged which is why he was hired and deserves nothing.his co and the chain leading down to him should all be fired.

678 Was that a "psychiatric" or a "psychotic" injury?

@nonymous 69171, your soul needn't be conflicted here - audit the circumstances.

Cops are subjected to countless hours of mind-f**ck, enough to cause such dissociation (mind-split) as seen in the clip. Whereas, the students, are still being programmed; ("learned" that the State is the "All-Mighty).

The only conflict should be as follows: the government writes the rules for both, "education," and "law enforcement" - How can one pick a side, when the both, belong to the same team?

@dougo / 678, aren't they one in the same?

As for this article.... It's a war construct. The state needs to eliminate the Alphas / cops.

As for compensation.... I'll leave that to the cops. Do they want the "tangible," or, do they want the "truth?" I have only one to offer, and, that "one" is not the former.

9768 How can you refer to the police as alpha? Would that not make those who finance the State below police officers? The officer featured in this story acted on his own accord and should therefore notbe compensated. Why would you want to leave the duty of compensation to the police? Shouldthat duty not be in the hands of the people?

8620 The students where deliberately preventing the police from escorting student who had been arrested, to transportation. The Officer informed each student one by one that if they refused to move they would be pepper sprayed, and also asked them if they understood this. no one moved so he sprayed. Full vid's on youtube.
