San Antonio Police Use Taser on Father for Attempting to Save Infant Son from House Fire

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- A man was tasered by police for attempting to save his son's life. A house fire had broken out and trapped his 8-month-old infant son inside. Police prevented his attempts at rescuing the baby by tasering the man. The baby died in the blaze.

70210 Very sad and disturbing.

174131 If the cops aren't charged with manslaughter they should at least be fired and pensions forfeit to the family. Even if the cops were convinced that it was a suicide mission for this man to save his child it is still his life and his child's life, it's not like he was asking them to risk their lives in the rescue. It take a special kind of egotistical cruelness to deny a man a chance to do what he can, condemning his child to burn.

6675 Don't jump. There are reports (unverified) that the child had already been discovered (dead) and removed from the house prior to any tasering.

9822 What's your source Anonymous 6675? "The child had already been discovered (dead) and removed from the house prior to any tasering." If this were the case the father wouldn't have need to enter a burning building. The cops could have simply told the man they had the child or shown him the body of the infant, much more effective than just tasering him.

99248 Im sure they will try and make anything up to make up for the immoral act they committed
Seems the powers that be have lost touch with humanity.

I'd like to see @nonymous 6675's source as well. I was too lazy to finish deciphering the anagram in the opening; (how to make a solid, large square on an iPad...?)

66 75, if I were good at math.....

678 Come on: How many times have you seen, in movies, someone have to be restrained from entering a burning building to save someone dear? My Dad and I have both gone into burning buildings on rescue missions for people who weren't even family.

How would you go about stopping someone from entering? Physical restraint? Knock him out?

Taser him?

They were saving HIS life.

17444 Oh they were saving his life by tasering him but of course the welfare queen cops who do nothing but violate the constitution and collect a paycheck would never dare put their life on the line.

9820 I was wondering Nickel's 2bits, please consider, you can not prove that the father would have died while rescuing his child. People have overcome overwhelming hazards and obstacles in the defense of their children. In any case, it is his right to try to save his son.
What is the officer's source of moral authority to refuse the man the opportunity to rescue his child from imminent danger? Would you suggest the state, who we all know to be above reproach and of flawless character? Are your morals indued from the Hollywood movies, the great bastion of righteousness? Do your morals come from yourself, and some type of inner compass? If you answer yes then how can you say that the father's inner compass is less valid than yours when you deny him and sentence his baby to immolation? Are your morals a reflection of your obedience to your God, and if they are does your God authorize you to come between this man and his child?
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob gave children as a blessing and expected you to take care of them.
Is there another source of moral behavior that one would base his behavior on?
There may have been some way the cops could have helped, we spend so much on training them and their equipment. Instead they focused on not allowing the father to attempt a rescue. The forcible denial of allowing someone to do something who has more at stake than them and is of greater courage than themselves does not equate to these officers being noble or honorable.

7049 EVEN IF the father had died, that is his choice, and RIGHT to protect his children. SO FUCKED UP that they would even think they should be able to deny him the chance to try and save his offspring. Would any of them trade places and be grateful at having their child burn so they may or may not be saved from death? Ridiculousness.

7558 Remember the days when brave law enforcement officers would have been the first ones in the burning building to save a child even if it meant their own death. Its a shame what this country has become. Bunch of pansy commies. I doubt verymuch Dad would be trying to save an already dead kid. Nice try for a cover for the officer though! Fucking Liars!
