 The European Commission has fined Microsoft $732 million for failing to give options on the opening Windows screen for downloading other browsers. This proves that consumers are smarter than governments. After all, most consumers have figured out on their own that they have other options to Internet Explorer. Chrome is the number one browser in the markets today, IE is second, and Firefox is third. Safari and Opera are next in the list. IE’s market share is only 26.1%. Here’s the rundown of market share. This is not a story of a company exploiting consumers. IE isn’t so bad after all, and it has improved with each release, just not as much and as fast as other products. This is really just a story of looting of a private company. Government goes and grabs the money where it can find it. |
