108211 If the photographer did nothing wrong,
why is the cop asking him to provide ID ??

It's harassment. Period.
If the cop has nothing to hide,
why is he worried about you tube?

75145 Let's forget about shooting the video as pretext for the arrest, and let's forget about the remark about Youtube (which falls under cop's own freedom of speech). The cop in the video said that the arrest was for not showing the ID. Assuming that this was what he put in his report, and that's what the citizen was charged with (was he?), and that PD chief does not see anything wrong in it - it must be the law in this jurisdiction?

17374 There is no law in Texas requiring a person to show ID to police, unless the person has broken some law or there is probable cause. I see evidance of niether in the video.

188151 As far as I know, the is no law anywhere in the US demanding citizens carry ID. A policeman can ask you if you have it, you can get around that by supplying your name ( I believe in most instances, you do he to give them your name).
