Doug Wead: Romney Threatened Ron Paul with PR A-Bomb
Not attacking Romney was giving up entirely and surrendering the campaign. It was obvious when it happened, the whole fire behind his campaign died after he got cheated in Iowa, stopped with the attack ads, and got put on the defense with the accusations of racism.
People are united by a common enemy, any fascist can tell you that, democracy is about moving mobs and positive campaign ads are worthless. You get a mob behind you by mobbing, they should have attacked Romney for everything he did, and even things he didn't do, that's how the stupid game of politics works, and that's what any two-bit "political strategist" would tell you.
For Benton, or whoever, to say let's lie down and buddy up to Romney, is to say let's give up entirely. Frankly, I don't necessarily buy into this mobbing of Benton, Ron Paul picked him, didn't fire him, and chose to go along with his "strategies," almost all of which involved compromising and establishment boot licking, all to "appear respectable." Then they attacked him on the "racist" newsletters and he "respectably" lost all his support.
You know, one of the dumbest things of his campaign, which no one else would talk about, was his filing suit against the Jon Hustman shill who created that fake racist pro-Ron Paul ad, they tried to sue him for trademark violations in the most bogus lawsuit imaginable, fortunately it was thrown out by a judge who is not a moron. We may have been the only site to criticize him over that suit, I still don't understand the stupid logic behind it. - Chris
