Via LimaOhio:
LIMA — A tiny circle of blood splatter on the sidewalk was all that remained Tuesday afternoon after an early morning scene of unfortunate events unraveled in a Lima neighborhood.

A pedestrian was accidentally shot by police and a wounded pit bull remained on the loose after it attacked Lima police officers around 8:40 a.m. Tuesday on West Kibby Street.

Ronald Keller, 64, of Lima, was struck in the right hand by a ricocheted bullet after two Lima Police Department officers were assisting the Allen County Dog Warden in responding to a call concerning two pit bulls running at large in a South Elizabeth Street neighborhood.

Keller was taken after the incident to St. Rita's Medical Center, where he was in fair condition Tuesday evening. He suffered non life-threatening injuries around his right hand. Keller was not available for comment Tuesday evening.
