 Now that Osama is officially dead, are we going to end the war on terrorism? Cut the military? Pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan? Lets not kid ourselves, for the U.S. war machine, it will be business as usual. All that's changed is now the government needs a new Emmanuel Goldstein to justify the endless war and the ever expanding military industrial complex. To quote Ron Paul the other day on The View, "...the Military Industrial Complex controls both the parties. We always have to have an enemy. Think of how many weapons are being sold. We have a system of corporatism where business and governments are partners and they rips us off." Notice how the media is endlessly reminding us, while it's certainly time for imperial celebrations and frothing blood lust, "obviously" the threat of Al-Qaeda will never disappear. After all, we can't cancel all those war contracts can we?!
