Cop Shoots Man Over Parking Space Dispute

"He's a good kid, he plays softball, hunts, takes all the old people's trash out for them... He's a good boy."

A Philadelphia police officer apparently shot a 23-yr-old man over a dispute involving a parking space. The officer, who was off-duty and in plain clothes at the time, claims the young man, Josh Taylor, pointed a gun at him. Taylor's fiancée disputes that claim, saying while he had a gun in his pocket, he was going to a gun range and he never threatened the officer.

What puts the officer's claim into serious question is the contention that the officer apparently chased the man down and shot him after the man had fled into his own home, seemingly indicating there was no immediate threat to the officer's life.

"Next thing you know my boyfriend is running in the house, shuts the door behind him," said Brittney Britton, Josh Taylor's fiancée. "The cop opened the door fully on his own, no warrant...got in a stance and just shot him right in the chest and ran... right over to his house and shut the door."

NBC Philadelphia has more on the story here, though they don't seem to care about doing any sort of critical analysis.
