An ex-alcoholic cop who fell off the bandwagon allegedly brandished his gun after some strangers insulted him for leaving his baby alone in his car.

WRTV Indianapolis reports:
The residents accused Dine of leaving his 8-month-old daughter alone in his car while he ran into two restaurants. [...]

"He said, 'Nice f'ing job leaving your kid in the car.' I said, 'Excuse me?' He said, 'Yeah, you heard me, nice f'ing parenting,'" said Dine. "I told him to mind his own business and I referred to him as a redneck. Then I told him to go back to his f'ing trailer." [...]

During the confrontation, several witnesses said Dine pulled out his handgun and waved it around. Dine said he was only transferring the weapon from his ankle holster to his waistband because he felt threatened and outnumbered.

Despite the cop being a struggling alcoholic, the "Greenwood Police Merit Board" say they feel there's no need to fire him. Instead, he'll keep his job but face a minor suspension for 30 days and attend an anger management class. I'm sure we'll be hearing more from this exemplary member of the force, hopefully his next victims won't end up dead.
