Are the Dominoes Starting To Fall? USSR, Egypt, Syria, ... US?

The USSR and its empire fragmented twenty years ago. Egypt looks to be next. And according to Dissidents Call for ‘Day of Rage’ in Syria, Syria may be following on its heels. As in the case with Egypt, the Internet, Facebook, Twitter, social media are helping to foment resistance to state authority and to expose state evils. Cell phone cameras, Youtube, laptops--information is helping to destroy the state. As the above article notes:

Syrian opposition groups are using social networking sites to call for a “day of rage” protest in the country this week, similar to recent mass gatherings in Tunisia and Egypt.

The activists are demanding reforms from the government of President Bashar al-Assad, who inherited power in 2000 from his father, Syria’s ruler for three decades.

Organizers are using Facebook and Twitter to urge supporters to rally in Damascus Friday to call for political change. One site is calling for a second rally on Saturday.

Let’s hope the US regime’s days are numbered too.
