EAST LANSING -- The mother of an East Lansing High School student says police used a Taser on her son during a confrontation Thursday near the school’s cafeteria. Dionnedra Reid of East Lansing said she believes East Lansing police used excessive force during the situation because her 17-year-old son, a junior, already was being held down on his back by four other East Lansing police officers when another officer Tasered him in the chest twice.
