Portraying Arabs as criminals or terrorist is really the same thing the Nazis did to the Jews. During the Nazi Era, many films were produced that depicted Jews as simultaneously controlling the economies of the world, and as degraded sub humans. The Nazis produced propaganda that was geared toward generating hatred and resentment toward Jews.

Hollywood has done this to the Arabs, and so have many of our politicians. There are criminals and terrorists in every culture. Why do we continue to hear of Arab or Muslim terrorists? Because it is those nations in the Middle East that our politicians have attacked or demonized: Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Yemen and Syria.

Twenty years ago, the Irish were considered terrorists in the UK. Certainly the IRA was a terrorist organization, just as al-Qaeda is. But the IRA does not represent the majority of Irishmen, and al-Qaeda does not represent Muslims or Arabs.

Hatred has been used by politicians for thousands of years in order to control people. And it is being used today.

hay anonymous, you have a great point but this did not happen in the good ole USA it happen elsewhere..the prostitutes in washington (political people) have sold us out. they dont care about the people all they want is there pac money and where is that money ?WEAPONS to kill, DRUGS to save ya from death, MONEY well thats everywhere like BANKS , also UNIONS yea unions. did you know that before every skirmish or war the unions were involved, yepTHEY CONTROL THE PORTS FOR SHIPPING EVERYTHING....

What came first, the chicken or the egg? or more precisely the arab terrorist or the portrayal of arab terrorists in the media? Sure the middle-eastern madman bomber made for an easily identifiable villian in the movies, just as nazi's, communists and mafia mobsters did in the past when those group were relevant to the times. Lets face facts people, I dont hand my small child an automatic rifle and have him chant "death to america" in front of a camera and then complain that those images are racially biased. Look into history and see that the arabian peninsula has been a centre of intense conflict for hundreds and even thousands of years. Facts are facts.

If there were no terrorist incidents then the audience wouldn't percieve these stereotypical villian images as being realistic.
