Rupert Murdoch: "The current days of the internet will soon be over"

Current days of free internet will soon be over, says media mogul
Andrew Clark in New York

Analyzing the Propaganda:

There are already internet "services" in Europe where you buy "bundle" packages of certain websites, for example you can buy a "news bundle" and you get limited access to CNN, SKY News, etc. or a "sports bundle" and you get ESPN etc. but you cannot simply search the internet freely. They sell this as a "cheaper alternative" to the free internet. They give it to people cheap for now but their intent is to have the entire internet a "pay as you go" type system where websites need "licenses" from government controlled bureaucracies (as described here) in order to have the "privilege" to use the internet. You can be damn sure a "terroristic alternative media" site like this one will not be approved. - Chris, IL
Rupert Murdoch expects to start charging for access to News Corporation's newspaper websites within a year as he strives to fix a "malfunctioning" business model.

Encouraged by booming online subscription revenues at the Wall Street Journal, the billionaire media mogul last night said that papers were going through an "epochal" debate over whether to charge. "That it is possible to charge for content on the web is obvious from the Wall Street Journal's experience," he said.

Asked whether he envisaged fees at his British papers such as the Times, the Sunday Times, the Sun and the News of the World, he replied: "We're absolutely looking at that." Taking questions on a conference call with reporters and analysts, he said that moves could begin "within the next 12 months‚" adding: "The current days of the internet will soon be over."

Plunging earnings from newspapers led the way downwards as News Corporation's quarterly operating profits slumped by 47% to $755m, although exceptional gains on sale of assets boosted bottom-line pretax profits to $1.7bn, in line with last year's figure.

Dwindling advertising revenue across print and television divisions depressed the News Corp numbers despite box office receipts from Twentieth Century Fox movies such as Slumdog Millionaire and Marley and Me. But Murdoch said he believed signs of hope were appearing.

"I'm not an economist and we all know economists were created to make weather forecasters look good," he quipped. "But it is increasingly clear the worst is over."

He continued: "There are encouraging signs in some of our businesses that the days of precipitous declines are done, and things are beginning to look healthier."

News Corp's newspaper division barely broke even, with quarterly profits collapsing from $216m to $7m year-on-year. Advertising revenue in Britain fell by 21% and Murdoch revealed the Sunday Times is struggling: "It's still in profit, but only just so." The tabloids had fared better, aided by price battles at supermarkets which spend heavily on print promotions.

Television profits also shrank dramatically, falling from $419m to $4m due to a loss of Superbowl revenue and weaker advertising at the group's Fox channels in the US and its Star network in Asia.

News Corp has cut 3,000 jobs over the last year, although Murdoch said very few affected journalists or "creative" personnel. Its filmed entertainment division enjoyed an 8% rise in profits to $282m, while Fox News Channel in the US helped push profits from cable subscription networks up by 30% to $429m.

But News Corp revealed that its interactive media division, which includes the social networking site MySpace, had turned in a lower contribution. MySpace's management was recently replaced as News Corp struggles to build sustainable profitability but Murdoch dismissed competition from its larger rival, Facebook.

"We're not going for the Facebook model of getting hundreds and hundreds of million of people who don't bring any advertising with them at all," he said.

Meanwhile a threat to close the Boston Globe was averted today as its owner, the New York Times Company, struck a deal with the daily's largest union after a week of talks; the 137-year-old publication is the the 14th biggest-selling US paper.

99142 I don't know how to feel about the actions of this man. I think the actions themselves are deplorable, but I know that seeing everything dualistically (good/evil) is not beneficial to finding the truth of things. Where to direct these emotions? Rupert Murdoch is, and is not, to blame. Man is not our enemy, and yet it is our only enemy.

Anyone else have any thoughts, other than 'fuck you you pig murdoch" ? (though I very much understand your anger, and can relate.)

94194 This is good news really as the mainstream media is corrupt. It hasn't been mentioned in this article but I think at least some of Murdoch's downturn in business is due to people switching to alternative media sites where they aren't lied to and fed propaganda so much. Hopefully charging for people to access garbage will help to wean even more people off it. There is also a lot of propaganda on alternative media sites so really people need to be critical thinkers and check out several sources.

People's lives are controlled in part through fake contexts, the context of elites like murdoch is something I continue to explore.

While the net and I are here I use it, the mother of Rupert Murchoch:
<Murdoch was born Elisabeth Joy Greene in Melbourne to an Australian mother and an upper-class father from England.>
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elisabeth_Murdoch_(senior)

A father, uppper class but without a name. This is common in history, so many people having been bred for war against mankind, british trained murdoch included. The 'royal' family would be an example of this with devastating consequences the world over.

<She married Keith Murdoch, 23 years her senior, in 1928 and inherited the bulk of his fortune when he died in 1952. When he was knighted she became Lady Murdoch and retained that title after his death, until she was appointed a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1963.>

Crown protection of that nature seems to stem from scale of attrocity, something murdoch follows in driving the media as it was down to the point of extinction with all the associated damage to the human mind associated with that.

One of the roles of the media is for private dialogue which by intention goes over the heads of the general populous. For example:

<We must now live in the gap between the official constitution - which allows Mr Brown to continue in office for another year - and the unofficial one, which has robbed him of any real power. We face 12 months in which our Prime Minister is a dead man walking - and the Government a corpse still twitching.>
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1176706/MAIL-ON-SUNDAY-COMMENT-Gordon-Brown-political-dead-man-walking.html

As the public in britain are given the context that Gordon Brown is in charge of them (absurd but people inherit such beliefs) people are likely to struggle to understand this comment, it simply gets skipped. Gordon Brown's job like that of Rupert Murchoch includes destruction of life in britain as it was. As the world is run through britain, the catastrophe is global in nature.

Such destruction as there has been requires destruction of truth, destruction of thought. With national structures locked in a military chain of command people do what they are told, don't admit they know it is nonsense even when they know it is nonsense.

It is best if people do their own research, not just look around shopping for truth because being misled doesn't happen if you find what the truth is.

As for Rupert Murdoch, one of the global capers enacted through the british crown who have similar qwerks in their bloodlines for control was mass distribution of child pornography, as usual much of the dirty work was handed down to a company known as the united states. I didn't just evidence this, I took evidence against one of the corporations under Mr Murdoch's enterprise into a meeting with the metropolitan police. The detective smiled and looked away, they had of course come to scupper exposure of truth but respected across the divide (he was an employee I make my own decisions) that the facts imputed were made in evidence. Made in evidence they were or 'banged to rights' as they say in the cop shop.

Britain goes the extra mile in protecting the truth. When I sent such evidence to a well known expert he was arrested and the evidence stolen. Although such matters are in court and they say subjudice to intefere the legal world is the king of cons against people, monumentous lies are told in court by the state just as they are in the white house and I think it is far better the public have access to the truth.

<who main job is to spread fear>

This is the problem with the concept of 'employment', 'jobs' and who defines them. The murdoch's, intertwined with tavistock's hero freud and the rothroyal society, the role is to disable or kill millions of people. Whether multiple layers of dead end deception or just nonsense, the global counter intelligence agency does a good job by role which is disinformation. By role, no praise or award is high enough for Rupert Murdoch, people have been disabled and killed on mass. For mankind as a whole including the elites themselves the truth is another story.

As for spreading fear, this is described by the honest title of a report on global terrorist operations directed at the RIIA:

Behind all the gazillions spent on plotting, deception and control by this global piracy operation there tends to be very simple logic, what I would call military thinking which most of us can do by simply imagining sitting in a secret meeting plotting to control the world forever. Straight lines are drawn between the where you are and the stages on your journey, organisations such as murdoch's are then given what manipulates or disables public perception (the misdirection layers).

As they plan so far advance this is a vulnerability, when things go wrong as they have especially due to the internet being taken over as a peer to peer world by the public, this messes up their time lead over the public, in instances that is reversed and the public are ahead of them. Much relies on ignorance, especially within the states themselves who are required to enact the social engineering required. I think it serves well to seek to understand not just how we got in this posistion but where this is heading in specific circumstances.

The religious control was in debt through sin, the debt being to fronts set up for the purpose. The main practical control is through trade so what would one do if one wanted the fall back position of collapse of the current structures, including all banking structures if the public refused to accept dictatorships.

For monopoly one would seek to secure that on which life depends, although a full spectrum attack one item high on the agenda and a change from oil which is irrelevant after a collapse is water. The royal society haven't tasked this from what I have seen to their 'news corporation', the reason being is that what they term 'energy security' isn't sellable to the public, in my view because it isn't believable. The royal society have done well by their jobs and have been celebrating the poisoning of the water table and engineered scarcety in mexico whose leader recently received a bound copy of 1984 from the rothroyals. As for their windsor name, in common with the secret history of the murdochs the windsor name was new (as applies to hitler), the windsor name I understand being adopted in britain in 1917.

To attempt to fake a rational to 'energy security' (monopoly) to the public, the royal society has linked their environmental controls to their 'energy infrastructure'. With weather manipulation, prime agricultural land can be destroyed, through economic operations its owners destroyed and possession taken. Similar to the economic terrorism, debt is sociallised, the profits taken out.
toxic debt a gifted to the public:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UK_Financial_Investments_Limited

'The Vulnerability of Energy Infrastructure to Environmental Change'
http://www.chathamhouse.org.uk/publications/papers/view/-/id/737/

<Much energy infrastructure lies in areas that are predicted to become increasingly physically unstable owing to changes in the environment.>

I would urge caution when interpreting the term 'environment', the definition is far broader than the weather in this context.

<become sovereign and you are free of all these kings - 16.*>

In a recent report on this site claimed to be from a virtual agency known as the department of homeland security tried to declare such things terrorist in nature, to have your own mind defining a terrorist.
http://www.tdbimg.com/files/2009/04/30/-hsra-domestic-extremism-lexicon_165213935473.pdf

The british government has according to the media asserted 'sovereignty', the ruler cons depend on hypocrisy and a house of cards as they refer to a corporation which runs the registration systems used to claim ownership of lives and things though draws distinctions to suit. Courtesy of their IBM it is just a metadata system requiring public belief.

According to wiki, one of the internet pioneers was a chap callled Vannevar Bush, his photo showing a strong resemblance to a controlled disinformation supremo in britain (for a time in their eu construct) known as Peter Mandelson, both presumably bred to order.

http://www.delaus.ec.europa.eu/images/Mandelson3.jpg
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Vannevar_Bush_portrait.jpg

Scrutiny of the infotrail I have left helps illustrate there isn't some welcome solution to come from officialdom, that isn't how it works, that isn't why the United States was founded, a monopoly on power requires enslavement or devastation. With self sovereignty we make our own decisions, lines of authority are cut, politicians become the hot air that they really represent. I can say from experience that I am not free of these control games, they attempt to operate a monopoly and live in a world which is controlled beyond their own understanding in many instances. I look at it that for mankind to be free, they too must be free.

I would like to see the internet free. People have taken on this peer to peer environment, it offers real choice and the opportunity to benefit from it and to contribute to it. It is one of the real success stories. Free of censorship, free of cost, politicians like ron paul would say that isn't possible. That simply isn't true. The cost creates a control, there is no need of it as a moments thought will confirm. The company cannot compete or even survive with the internet as is, left alone they have to destroy it.

156101 Go ahead and charge. The current days of the internet are over? Maybe the internet you use. Here's what's great about motivated people trying to make a buck: competition and innovation. By the time Mr. Murdock reforms his idea of the "internet" (which by the look of Murdock, he doesn't seem like he's going to even see it) a thousand other ideas, albeit better ones, will provide access and news the same way it is now...free. How about trying to charge people a nominal fee for something they don't have instead of trying to charge them for something that's basically free. Another good line, "economists were created to make weather forecasters look good". Where the fuck did this guy get his education? Time to go back to school Murdock.

Well, the "open" internet or whatever it will be called will be "pay as you go." IE you get a few sites which your ISP favors for the initial cost of the service, then any other sites you visit outside of them you are charged each and every time you click a link etc.

If a corporation wants to have "favored status" and make it free for people to go to their site they can pay the ISP for this, and the ISP will in turn make their networks give them super fast speeds etc. when people try to visit their site. Meanwhile sites like ours will be slow as hell and expensive to browse because we don't have the money to get "favored status."

Honestly it is a nightmare, I hope I never see a day when their vision becomes a reality, it is their agenda though and they are working very hard to see that things are made this way. (they work psychopathically hard, normal people are not driven to obsessively work so much, they are extremely serious and when they say they are going to do something they do it, it is hard to compete with people like that)

When one takes the time to research the "liberal elite," whom the conservatives oppose, and the "conservative elite," whom the liberals oppose, one finds both "elite" are one and the same. "Liberal" or "Conservative" is not a substantive choice, it is only the carefully crafted illusion of a choice, for both parties come together when they are instructed to.

Joseph Kennedy, father of JFK, in the July 26th, 1936 issue of The New York Times.

If you care to know who runs the world you live in, view these films. If you care not then I leave you with this quote to ponder:

"There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda or brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods. And this seems to be the final revolution."
