San Diego Fires: The Blackwater Connection

Having done some research the last few days I have come to the possible conclusion that there may be more than meets the eye here.

Blackwater has been in a big legal fight with the town of Potrero to build the nations largest mercenary training center. The people of the Potrero community have resisted Blackwater's attempts to do so, now suddenly all of their homes are gone and the entire community destroyed and purged of all Blackwater resistance.

I have a funny feeling that Blackwater may be getting a real good deal on a huge swath of land after the smoke clears.

Three weeks ago, the Petrero community was asked to sign a letter to Senator Dianne Feinstein and Senator Barbara Boxer about Blackwater's base, including a warning about Potrero's "fire-prone landscape":

"Not only will Blackwater's proposed California paramilitary base disrupt the lives of its residents, but it will also threaten the pristine natural habitat of the Round Potrero Valley, which includes part of Cleveland National Forest and is adjacent to the proposed Hauser Wilderness preserve. The regular detonation of firearms would be a risk both to the fire-prone landscape as well as to the wildlife that currently calls that area home, including the golden eagle and the California condor."

Blackwater is ironically now playing on those very people's emotions by offering their helicopters, tanks and soldiers to help the community and surrounding areas fight the fires.

This fire exploded just as the people of Potrero were preparing for a recall election on December 11 to kick out the planning group members who approved Blackwater's base. With ballots scheduled to be mailed in early November to less than 600 registered voters in this historic vote-by-mail recall, Potrero residents were preparing for an intense campaign over the next six weeks.

But the actual landscape -- and the political landscape -- of Potrero have been transformed over the last 48 hours.

I'm starting to hear on the news that authorities believe some of these fires were deliberately set.

It is almost, just too convenient, I'd say.

My gut feeling tells me that Blackwater, FEMA and Bu$co are behind these set fires. They gain. Their dirty image is cleansed by playing the last action hero. All ends well thanks to them.

As soon as I heard the name "Potrero" I started to wonder about a connection. Then I heard about the only death in all of California occured ( at that time- Sunday) in Potrero, so I looked him up. Later I learned that 250,000 people had been evacuated, 1 out of every 3 San Diegans - Wow, I thought!- It's another voter removal protram- just like Katrina! So I started to read more- here are some of the interesting facts I learned: The Potrero Fire starts at 9:23 am Sunday. Maybe 3 hours later, Thomas Varshock dies in the flames. He is one of the original members of the Potrero Planning Group formed in 1998 (I saw his name on the list of the original members), (I would like to know what exact time he died- his son was heliocoptered out to UCSD hospital.)
Curiously, VArshock's death was described, on the scene it seemed, in an article that dayt by Jerry Johnson, also a founding member of thePotrero Planning group also. He is still on the commission today. In another article, Varshock's was described by the now chairman of the Potrero Planning Commission. This man - Hammers I think his name is. Where were these men when they were interiewed? Were they specially called, or did they happen to be by Varshock's house at the time? If they just happened to be there, why were they there, as opposed tobeing at their houses trying to save them?
Next item: Jerry Johnson in his interview the first day of the Harris fires remarked that there was so much fire all around it was "in an arc... it seemed like someone had poured liquid fire all around."
Thomas Varshock was a geologist and he worked for the Defense Department. I haven't been able to ascertain his position on Blackwater. There may be nothing here, but Knxradio here in LA which was 24 without commercials for the first 2 or 3 days of the fires, on the first day various different reporters would remark about the Potrero fire that it seemed different from the others, that there was something odd about it. What do you all know about this? Who all are the anti-blackwater players active down there with the recall and all? let me know - ljkrausen@sbcglobal.net. Thanks Linda K

Linda, here is one web-page that I know about, this information comes to me from a local resident from San Diego, who belongs to a spiritual community that I post on, called United Communities of Spirit. He post on our page updates from time to time on their fight to keep Blackwater out of the Sacred Potrero Valley.

Maybe this website, will lead toward more names.....

Since I learned the truth about 9/11, I never trust what I see on TV. When it comes to these fires though, it sounded perfectly normal to me that this dry time of year and the winds could cause fires like what we saw. Then, watching fux news, they were showing several of the houses that burned to the ground. Nothing left. I thought it was really odd that there were no burned trees (with yellow leaves even) around all the houses they showed. I mentioned it to a friend and she had noticed the same thing. Something just didn't seem right. I immediately thought the fires has to be arson. Not saying I'm right, just saying that was my first impression.
