Raising the Dead for the Midterms

It stinks of desperation: as the midterm elections close in, the RNC has released a fire and brimstone ad, depicting an all too familiar cast of characters—the dead Osama, the banal doctor Ayman al-Zawahiri, and a congregation of ninja-clad terrorists training in comical jujutsu. “These are the stakes,” the ad balefully concludes. “Vote Nov. 7.”

According to the Boston Globe, the “ad, which is being e-mailed from the Republican National Committee to millions of GOP activists, is unusual both for the directness of its emotional appeal and for what some party leaders acknowledge that it represents: the need for the GOP to shift the national discussion to the party’s perceived strength of national security before the midterm elections.” In other words, the Republicans are once again exorcising the Muslim Freddy Kruger, “raising the level of fear of a terrorist attack, and framing the issue in a way that could benefit the Republicans.”

“How could a bunch of technologically unadvanced group of people from third-world nations such as ‘Al Qaeda’ ever have any real central organization structure? If they had any real organization they would have most certainly attacked us again after September eleventh. Where are all the terrorist cells in this country?” muses Joseph John Hrevnack.

“Is it conceivable that Al Qaeda, as defined by President Bush as the center of a vast and well-organized international terrorist conspiracy, does not exist?” wonders Robert Scheer, who was fired from the Los Angeles Times as an op-ed columnist and replaced with the rabid neocon, Jonah Goldberg.

Paul Joseph Watson is more direct. “The origins of the name ‘Al-Qaeda,’ and its real arabic connotations prove that every time the Bush administration, Fox News, or any individual who cites the threat of ‘Al-Qaeda,’ as a mandate for war and domestic authoritarianism, they are propagating the myth that such a group ever existed,” he writes. “An organization by the name of ‘Al-Qaeda’ does not exist and has never existed outside a falsely coined collective term for offshoot loose knit terror cells, the majority of which are guided by the Pakistani ISI, Mossad, the Saudis, MI6 and the CIA,” a fact that evinces nothing short of a stunning superfluity of evidence, all of it purposefully ignored by a corporate media determined to push the neocon line of total war against phantasmal enemies.

For Andreas von BÃ¼low, former State Secretary at the Ministry Of Defense for Germany, the nine eleven attacks are “unthinkable… without backing from the secret apparatuses of state and industry…. Planning the attacks was a master deed, in technical and organizational terms,” and it is absurd to believe Osama and his gang of cave-dwellers, isolated in one of the most remote and backward countries in the world, would be capable of pulling of such a complicated operation. According to von BÃ¼low, the “enemy image” was created by “Zbigniew Brzezinski and Samuel Huntington, two pioneers of American secret intelligence and foreign policies…. Already in the mid-1990s, Huntington opined that people in Europe and the USA needed someone they could hate—that would strengthen the identification with their own society. And Brzezinski, that mad dog … advisor to President Jimmy Carter, campaigned for the sole right of the USA to all the world’s raw materials, especially crude oil and natural gas.”

General Leonid Ivashov, the Chief of Staff of the Russian armed forces on September 11, 2001, tells us “international terrorism is a phenomenon that combines the use of terror by state and non-state political structures as a means to attain their political objectives through people’s intimidation, psychological and social destabilization, the elimination of resistance from power organizations and the creation of appropriate conditions for the manipulation of the countries’ policies and the behavior of people.” According to Ivashov, the organizers of the nine eleven attacks “were the political and business circles interested in destabilizing the world order and who had the means necessary to finance the operation” and only “secret services and their current chiefs have the ability to plan, organize and conduct an operation of such magnitude. Generally, secret services create, finance and control extremist organizations. Without the support of secret services, these organizations cannot exist—let alone carry out operations of such magnitude inside countries so well protected. Planning and carrying out an operation on this scale is extremely complex” and well beyond the capacity of Osama bin Laden and “al-Qaeda” who

do not have the necessary organization, resources or leaders. Thus, a team of professionals had to be created and the Arab kamikazes are just extras to mask the operation. The September 11 operation modified the course of events in the world in the direction chosen by transnational mafias and international oligarchs; that is, those who hope to control the planet’s natural resources, the world information network and the financial flows. This operation also favored the US economic and political elite that also seek world dominance.

It is precisely the agents of these “transnational mafias and international oligarchs” at work in the neoconized RNC who have released this daffy video. Of course, for the oligarchs, it does not matter so much if the Republicans or Democrats take over the House and possibly the Senate, as the agenda remains immutable, although the pertinacious neocons, ensconced in the Pentagon, are determined to hold power and realize their Zionist-centric dream of a balkanized Arab and Muslim Middle East, damaged beyond repair, and providing for the foreseeable future scary Freddy Kruger apparitions garbed in turbans and vestments.
