This marks the "first time in history" the Rockefeller Center tree has been donated by a "same-sex or Latinx couple," The Hill reports.

From The Hill:
For the time in history, the Christmas tree at center stage in Rockefeller Center in New York was donated by a same-sex couple.

The 72-foot-tall tree was cut down from the home of Lissette Gutierrez and Shirley Figueroa in upstate New York two weeks ago and left for its new home shortly after.

[...]Now, the Norway Spruce that once towered over their home, which the couple nicknamed "Shelby," is wrapped in miles of multicolored lights and adorned with a star made of millions of Swarovski crystals, according to the outlet.

Shelby marks the first time in the holiday tradition, which began in the 1930s, that the Rockefeller Center tree has ever been donated by same-sex or Latinx couple.
This is one for the history books, folks.
