Russian President Vladimir Putin says Russian businessmen allegedly interfering in the affairs of the US is, at worst, no different than George Soros interfering in the affairs of governments throughout the world.
The US State Department would never admit to backing George Soros’s alleged attempts to “rock the euro,” yet Kremlin is being told to come clean on private internet companies meddling in politics, Vladimir Putin told Austrian TV.
When asked about his personal relations with businessman Evgeny Prigozhin, who is blamed by the West for sponsoring the alleged St. Petersburg-based “trolls,” Putin replied by saying: “So what? I know a lot of people in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.”He's got a point.
Realistically, the evidence against the Russian troll farms is extremely weak whereas Soros' meddling is widely documented and extremely extensive.
Nigel Farage made similar points in November 2017 before the EU parliament.
