![]() ![]() From The Hill: "He — just like every other police officer out there at heart — is a good person. He didn't take action in this event, and I can't explain why ... there are no words to explain why he wouldn't take action to take out this individual, but I think it's a good example of if he didn't take action and four others didn't, I mean, who does?" student David Hogg said in an interview on MSNBC.As a reminder, Hogg also said the FBI should not be blamed for their failure to stop the shooter despite repeated warnings: "My father's a retired FBI agent and the FBI are some of the hardest working individuals I have ever seen in my life." Hogg said President Trump on the other hand *can* be blamed for the shooting. "He can't put that off on them [the FBI]. He is in charge of them and these people, what they love to do is push this off on bureaucracy and say it's not them," he said. "He is in charge of the FBI ... the executive branch is supposed to enforce laws and as such, President Trump is in charge of that and the FBI." Hogg also says we should withhold judgement when it comes to Sheriff Scott Israel's dereliction of duty (though he had no problem calling the NRA "child murderers" in the aftermath of the shooting).
Contrast Hogg's statements with those from another student, who is not getting national media coverage, who witnessed Peterson doing nothing while being the "only one with a gun" and a "bulletproof vest":
