Inside the Belly of the Beast for Sunday Service

We went to a new church this morning at the invitation of a friend – Christ Fellowship in Boynton Beach, Florida.  The first half hour was pure military worship and warmongering propaganda.  There were two gigantic flags that dwarfed the rather tiny Christian cross.  First came an excruciatingly long and slow rendition of the state’s war anthem (The Star Spangled Banner).  Then two dudes dressed in military uniforms appeared with the ministers imploring everyone to thank, thank, thank, thank, thank, thank, thank, thank,, thank, thank, thank,, thank all members of the military, past and present, every moment of every day for “defending our freedoms.”  The “comment card” that was placed in all the pews did not have a Christian cross on it, but a large American flag, and a picture of a map of the U.S. adorned with another flag.

Next came a video featuring one of the paid murderers for the state, a guy who “served” in Eye-Rack (as he pronounced it).  He didn’t make any mention of how many people he murdered in Eye-Rack, but went on and on endlessly about how thankful he was that churches like Christ Fellowship collected money to “support the troops” in Eye-Rack.  Then there was another video featuring pictures of various statues of military dudes on horses, government monuments of all types, and flags, flags, flags galore.  The morons in the crowd hooted and hollered and whistled like drunken soccer fans at all of this.  It was all rather Berlin-in-1933-ish.

Having established the “fact” that all the state’s aggressive wars are the work of God, the weirdo crackpot ”historian” David Barton was introduced to explain that the men who created the U.S. government were all Bible readers.  The minister who introduced him claimed that he was “anointed by God.”  God apparently emailed Christ Fellowship to inform them of this.  So the lesson of the day was:  1)  Kill, kill, kill, war, war, war, is what every Christian should support; 2) Because, after all, the men who created this regime of never-ending war were good Bible readers.
