A 14-year-old girl caught Baytown, Texas police officer Tommy King parking illegally, so she wrote him a ticket, ordering him to pay $10 to their local apartment manager. When King returned to his car to find the ticket, he says he "started laughing immediately." Instead of ticketing himself and apologizing for breaking the very laws he enforces against others, he wrote the girl a $40 gift card for Toys-R-Us, in essence, buying the little girl off with her parent's own tax money. The story is supposed to be all "cute," and to an extent it is, but really it just shows the cop's hypocrisy. On the flip side, perhaps King should be applauded for not tasing her and having her arrested for "impersonating an officer." _ Chris runs the website InformationLiberation.com, you can read more of his writings here.
