A former West Sacramento police officer accused of sexually assaulting women while on duty was convicted on multiple charges Thursday. Sergio Alvarez, 38, was found guilty on 18 counts including rape, oral copulation against will and kidnapping by a Yolo County Superior Court jury. Jurors were hung on nine related counts. Five women testified against Alvarez. When he took the stand, he denied the women's allegations in some cases or testified the sex was consensual. Read More |
