Allegations that an Arlington police officer body slammed a teenage girl were “overblown,” according to a federal judge.

U.S. District Judge Terry Means dismissed the lawsuit against an Arlington police officer accused of using excessive force against a 15-year-old during a teen melee outside a nightclub. Means wrote Tuesday that video footage backed up statements made by Officer Dylan Eckstrom. The officer said he intercepted and subdued 15-year-old Kelcey Perry as she charged a group of girls.

“Although Kelcey claims that Officer Eckstrom grabbed her and ‘body slammed’ her, that description appears overblown based on the Court’s careful viewing of the video footage,” Means wrote.

He concluded the “use of force was not excessive or unreasonable under the circumstances.”
