  Nikki Haley's most spirited moment during the 2024 Republican presidential primary debate on Wednesday was when she went on a tirade in defense of US aid to Israel by claiming Israel doesn't need America but "America needs Israel."After screaming at Vivek Ramaswamy for wanting "to go and defund Israel," Haley said: "You want to cut the aid off! Let me tell you, it's not that Israel needs America, America needs Israel!"
America's GDP in 2021 was $23.23 trillion versus Israel's GPD of $488.5 billion. The US gives Israel billions of dollars a year which Israel regularly uses to buy US treasuries -- effectively lending us back our own aid money and charging us interest. According to the US Treasury's latest numbers, they currently hold $46 billion in US treasuries.
Despite Netanyahu lobbying our Congress to start the war in Iraq, Netanyahu didn't send a single troop to help in the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003. According to Nikki Haley, America desperately "needs" this completely one-sided relationship which has led to war after war, created endless enemies and destroyed our relationships in the Middle East.
