BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A sheriff's deputy who was arrested over the weekend has just escaped from a patrol car at the Central Receiving Facility around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. Officials confirmed with 23ABC News that 44-year-old Edward Tucker was the inmate who escaped from the jail. On Wednesday, KCSO official Ray Pruitt said that the window of the patrol car was slightly lowered in the back seat. Pruitt told 23ABC News that deputies are not trained to get out of handcuffs. Pruitt said Tucker was able to walk up the ramp from the parking structure and escaped. Pruitt said there were deputies nearby the vehicle, but they did not see Tucker. Tucker was originally arrested on October 24 and accused of brandishing a firearm to a group of juveniles. Read More |
